Commercial Hard money Loans are basically real estate asset loans.  A commercial hard money loan is a collateral based loan using real estate as the collateral.  Hard money lenders are willing to take on higher risk loans than traditional banks as long as they are able to use real estate equity as collateral.  While more costly than bank loans, this type of loan offers more options to business owners who need capital but may not have perfect credit or financials.  Business owners are allowed to use their commercial property as collateral.  If the borrower does default, the lender will foreclose on the collateralized property.  These loans are relatively short term, typically one to three years, with a balloon payment due at the end of the term.
